Halloween...in a nut shell

October
Logan got to do lots of fun Halloween things this year! He had his first school field trip to the Hillcrest Pumpkin Patch, it was so cute and so fun!  This was also his first year going trick or treating, and loved it, obviously. These boys are just so much fun and I love them to pieces.

We did have a huge hiccup in our Halloween fun, Ethan had a big scare. I was unloading this dishwasher and turned to see my little baby fall head first out of his highchair and hit the tile. After a couple seconds he screamed, I called 911 and the paramedics came within a couple of minutes. He already had a swelling bump on his head. Ethan had his first trip to the ER in an ambulance. I was crying and feel terrible that I could have prevented this accident. Thankfully he is OKAY, we are so blessed. We have to watch him closely for a 48 hours, but I know things could have  been worse. Lesson learned. Always strap a baby in! I had the tray locked in the tightest position but he still got out of it.

DISNEYWORLD!!!!

Disneyworld!!!!!!

This was our first official family vacation, and we all had lots of fun! The room was amazing, I had lots of fun swimming and playing with the kids while David was at a conference, and Disneyworld was of course a blast and a challenge with a baby who wanted to crawl around instead of sit in a stroller.

Highs: Ethan LOVED the fireworks and i think his favorite ride was It's a Small World. Logan's favorite ride was the Toy Story Mania -- i think this was mine too! He got to meet Jake the Pirate and Lightning McQueen.

Lows: I got food poisoning in DW, I wont be having a Chicago style hot dog probably ever again. The flights royally sucked. No more red eye flights or flights with more than 1 lay over.

Ethan is 9 months!!

-Cruising like a pro
-Stands unassisted for seconds, his balance gets better each day
-Now says "mama" A LOT :)
-Gives kisses on demand and makes a "ma" sounds when he does
-Waves his hands and claps when he is happy
-Had his first airplane ride, a red eye flight at that
-Goes down for most naps fully awake and doesn't really cry
-Chatters a lot!

Siblings share...more than I want sometimes.

Logan is now potty trained, and we are almost weaned from the little potty usage (thank goodness!) but this happened earlier this month. Ethan LOVES to push the little "flush" handle on it because it makes a Vroooom Vrooooom sound, so every time the bathroom door is open he goes straight for it.

Logan went pee in his Lightning McQueen potty, and Ethan crawled in there to try to flush it. I was on the phone, so this was totally my fault. I was just outside the bathroom sitting on a chair right outside at the computer. I didn't notice Logan tried to dump his pee in the big potty, spilling it on the floor and toilet. He got toilet paper to try and clean it. Ethan is right there in the action. I see whats happening and I pick Ethan up, wipe him down, pry the pee soaked toilet paper out of his little hands and clean the bathroom floor and all.

Once I'm done, I go into Ethan's room to change his clothes. I then notice he has something in his mouth. A huge clump of toilet paper. GAG.

I'm telling myself it wasn't soaked in pee like the clump he had in his hand. That's my story til this day...

Ethan is 8 months!

*Ethan is still all over the place, and is getting really fast, now he looks at you and smile when you say "No Ethan!" and then goes even faster.
*He has officially been charged with high treason. I've been working for months on getting Ethan to say "Mamamamama" and he says "Dadadadada". He also does other babbling but none that include the Mama sounds.
*He started eating chunky food, he doesn't want pureed food anymore. He doesn't really have a favorite, he eats anything. I'm not sure how much to feed him because he will eat until you stop feeding him. Sometimes I think he eats more than me! (I know he eats more than Logan) He also loves to eat the cat food.
*Anytime Logan is eating he tries to steal his food, and now succeeds often.
*The baby gate had to go up this month.
*Ethan is standing a little bit on his own for just a few seconds at a time. He is still cruising while holding onto furniture.
*He had his first swing ride at the park, and he loved it!
*He got his first Halloween costume, The Dark Knight, but didn't like the bat hat.
*He got his birthday bini in, it goes well with his appetite, The Hungry Caterpillar.

Ethan has been quite the little model for Mommy this month. I started making soft sole baby shoes and made most of the baby leg warmers I had socks for. David hope he wont be scarred for life since I've been putting adorable girly handmade items on him. I'm not sure who actually reads my blog anymore, but here is my store site if you wanna check anything out. www.pricelessembrace.etsy.com

Logan's Busy September...

LOGAN IS POTTY TRAINED!
My boy took his first step out of toddlerhood and into childhood. He is no longer wearing diapers! He still is at night but has been dry for this whole month every morning. It was a struggle but I learned not to push and he did it in his own time.

First Trip to the Emergency Room....
Logan fell and hit his head at Grandpa & Grandma Price's house.  He slipped on David's arm while playing on the floor with him and fell backwards and hit a 90 degree point on their wrought iron table leg. There was instantly blood EVERYWHERE. I had never seen that much blood and my reaction probably didn't help Logan much.

We took him to the ER where they gave him a CT scan, cleaned his head wound and gave him 2 staples. He was such a brave boy, and felt better once the Doctor gave him some stickers.

This Mama is going to have to toughen up, with 2 boys I'm sure this will not be my last trip to the emergency room.

There is no picture but Logan also had his first dentist appointment. He only let the Dr. Grant count his teeth, but he said his teeth look great and to keep up the good brushing!

Logan started preschool! He loved it and did very well for his first day.

7 month monster

My little baby is not so little anymore! He is so sweet and we just love him to pieces! On the 25th he turned 7 months old...how did this happen??

*This little boy is all over the place these days, literally!  He crawls EVERYWHERE, and will now follow us into whatever room we are in the house
*He is baby Kruser ;)  He is cruising along the furniture
*He is a climber, already yes, he is climbing.
*He now wakes up 2 or more times at night, due to teething, but no teeth yet. He also has been surprising Mommy and Daddy with some "middle of the night" play dates.
*He has entered the separation anxiety phase now, where all he wants is Mommy...and oh, how good it is to feel loved right?
*He sticks anything and everything is his mouth. Daddy was sleeping on the couch and was waken to someone gnawing on his toe <-----it was Ethan.
*He bounces up and down when he is excited
*He crouches to his little bum softly when he wants to get down from a standing position.
*I'm pretty sure he is doing the sign for "eat"
*We are working on the "mama" babble noises
*He turns and looks when we call him by his name
*He LOVES playing with Logan's train table
*He loves to eat, we have been trying more and more combo foods. He likes oatmeal mixes and we just started him on barely.

Logan just turned 3 this past month, so he already had a special birthday post but he is also so wonderful and is growing in leaps and bounds.  Everyday he says something hilarious and new, I need to be better at writing all his cute funny things down.  We are still working on the potty training, he is getting better but we aren't there yet. I'm trying to work with him on learning letters, the sounds they make, and numbers. He is pretty good at recognizing all the letters, and knows a number of their sounds.

Logan David turns 3!!!

It's August 11th, and the next morning will mark the day 3 years ago that I became a Mother. Logan changed my life for the better, forever.

The night before Logan's birthday each year he wakes up to a room full of balloons! Here he is asleep with his spiderman birthday banner and balloons waiting for him to wake up.
The next morning he comes to my room to wake me up, he very excitedly says, "Mama....theres BALLOONS in my room! And birthday things!!" (meaning the banner)
 Practicing holding up "3" fingers

We did Brownie Sundaes for his Birthday celebration at home on his actual birthday. We had a few of his best buddies over to join us for dessert. The following Friday we had his Spiderman Party at The Jungle, its a really fun kids place in our local mall with a Jungle to play in, art studio, dress up, karaoke, air hokey, and a bounce house.
The Food - I had lots of fun making kid friendly theme-food to go along with Spiderman, I kept it simple but all the kids seemed to enjoy it.

(yes - i did make these!)

the POP-corn was a huge hit for the kids, who doesn't love popcorn right?

The Birthday boy with his Spiderweb cake

 Caught in a web!

We had so much fun seeing Logan enjoy his birthday with all his little buddies and cousins. In 3 years Logan has grown so much, and we enjoy seeing the new things he does and says each day!

6 months...and very very late

Wow! I can't believe I am almost a month late, and for my 6 month mile stones! Ethan had changed so much from 5 to 6 months!

At his 6 month well baby check up, Ethan is 17.4lbs in the 50th %ile, is in the 75th %ile for height and has an average head circumference. All is normal and healthy.

Here are the things Ethan was up to:
* Crawling...yes...my child was crawling before the 6 month mark!
*Sitting unassisted, he skipped the whole "just sitting" step, he was scooting before he could sit
*He could sit, crawl, then go back to a sitting position. He would sit from crawling to change directions.
*Going strong on the solids, he was eating about 3-4 oz once a day. So far he loved peas, apples and would tolerate green beans and broccoli if they were mixed with apples.
*He entered the Mommy phase...where if he saw me, he wanted me (but who doesn't, right??)

New Monthly Update

Ethan is 5 months!

This little guys just keep on growing so fast, it's making Mama sad!
This past month:
-Solids! Yes, he is eating solids now. I wanted to wait until 6 months  but this little boy just seemed so hungry. So far he loves peas the most, broccoli the least.
-He can now roll from back to tummy, and tummy to back.
-He scoots all over the place and in every direction. He is starting to lift himself up from the floor with his arms. Crawling is just around the corner.
-He full out laughs, and laughs at silly things we do.
-He is so alert! He is already after any phone and remote he can get his hands on.
-He pinches when he grabs....and it hurts.
-He had his first trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and camping, he loved them both

Logan

Logan will be 3 in a little over a month, we cant believe how fast the time has gone by! We have been teaching him the proper way to pray, he loves to pray and asks to pray to heavenly father before each  meal.

Prayer Lesson:
Daddy: "Logan, when we pray to Heavenly Father, we can thank him for things. What is something you want to thank Heavenly Father for?"
Logan: "Hmmmmmm....chocolate cake!"
Daddy: "Okay, yes, you can thank him for chocolate cake. But you can also thank him for things like, keeping us safe and healthy. Now, we can also ask Heavenly Father for things, what is something you'd like to ask Heavenly Father for?"
Logan: "Hmmmmmm...BLUE chocolate cake!"

He did great for his first lesson, and he keeps practicing on saying prayers on his own. :)

Ethan is 4 months!

Logan is growing and changing so much! Whenever he runs he begins his step with any sort of flying sound effect. He has just begun to not  be too shy to say prayers now....he still mumbles through them but its so precious.  He now lets us brush his teeth willingly because we got this book called Sugar Bug Doug. So now we brush and kill the sugar bugs each night before bed time.

Here is a picture of Logan and David getting ready to go on their first Father & Sons camping trip. Logan had a blast!

Here are a couple of his new stories from this past month:
I was giving both him and Ethan a bath and I got Ethan out and dressed. I came back to sit with Logan, and he was trying to suck on the used wash towel.
Me: "Logan! No! That's yucky, I washed Ethan's butt with that towel!"
Logan: " "Mommy...turn around!" with the funny grin across his face.
I turned with one eye open and he went to suck on it anyway! I took it away before he did...but i thought this was pretty hilarious

David is installing a whole house fan system in our house. He was fishing wires from the attic to make a control plate in the hall way. This is done by using a "snake" tool. Logan runs into the front room to tell me
Logan : "Mommy!!! Daddy is catching snakes!! Come on Mom, Come see!!"

He's also began to say:
Oh my goodness!
Mommy, you crazy!
What the heck!

WOW! My little Ethan baby is growing so fast! He is now 4 months old and is up to so many new things!

We had his 4 month well baby check and here are the stats:
-95th percentile for height - 26 inches
-75th percentile for weight - 15 pounds 13 ounces
-50th percentile for head circumference

Here is what he is up to:
-Mr. Grabbers is his new name, he grabs at everything so we now have to be careful when holding him at a table because he goes for just about anything.
-Grabs and picks up toys and they go straight to his mouth, with lots of chewing and chomping....and drool.
-He has discovered his feet this last month, and loves to reach & eat them.
-He stared at our food when we are eating, the Dr. says he is ready for solids now...but I don't think I am ready for him to be ready ;)
-He loves to hear himself chatter and squeal....and so does Mommy!
-He scoots around a lot, I put him down on his play mat and he scoots in circles...he sure can't wait to start moving.
-He is ticklish for sure, and loves it!

The Power of Pinterest

So I've decided to make a bigger effort to do more fun sensory things with Logan. So instead of just pinning all these awesome ideas I've found on Pinterest, I've decided I need to actually DO them with Logan.  In turn, I am spending more time with him doing fun things while Ethan is napping instead of being on the computer or cleaning my house while Logan plays by himself or watches TV.

This is Oobleck. Its Cornstarch and Water and its a solid and a liquid! I'd never done this before and it was pretty cool. I saw a video that if you pour it on a cookie sheet and put it over a sub it will respond to the bass. This we couldn't get to work but will try again.

We had Sofia come over, she loved the "goo" but Logan didn't so much.  He hates getting stuff on him, so it didn't go over well.

I made Moon Sand, and Logan liked this much better. I told him an astronaut brought it back from the moon for me...he thought that was pretty awesome.

My goal is to do 2-3 fun things like these each week we can do together while Ethan is sleeping. In turn, I am hoping he will be happier getting some one on one attention with Mommy and the whining will decrease a bit. ;)

Mother's Day

How blessed am I to be a Mother to two wonderful boys! I just love them to  pieces and am in awe of them each day that passes! They are both so amazing and I love watching them grow, change and learn every day.   Logan blossoms a little more and is saying so many new things. He went outside with me and let me take some pictures of him on Mother's Day -- this was his present to me to be able to get some good shots of him.

Ethan is such a special baby, he is so easy and laid back and has such a sweet spirit to him. Here he is getting his first haircut, and me GIVING my first haircut! I have to say it turned out pretty good, I was tired of him looking crazy with his hair heading in every direction. He is 15 weeks here.

Ethan, take your pick!!

One of my best friends who happens to be our neighbor had her twins at the beginning of the month! They are just so precious and beautiful! It makes me want twin girls! I can't wait to see Ethan grow up and play with them, and hopefully not break any hearts in the process! ;)

Rockin' and Rollin

Ethan has been very close to rolling over, and today...HE DID IT! He was on his tummy and rolled over to his back.  I am excited that he is growing, but also dreading this because he hates laying on his back...hopefully he doesn't start rolling in his sleep otherwise he will most likely wake himself up!

With this first of Ethan, he also had another first this week....his first fever. :( He has a cold, a light cough and a congested nose. His fever was 100.9 and his little eyes are red.  He is still so perfect, hasn't been fussy at all....just a sad baby. I hope he gets better fast.

Potty Triumph

Well, we had a step in the right direction! On 4/24 Logan went pee pee in the potty, twice! He used to go but lost interest and once Ethan came lost ALL interest.  I've been pushing and he didn't seem ready, well...he still isn't totally but has gone to sit on the potty a few times since. This was made possible by the bribery method.  For 2 days I had to set the idea in Logan's head that if he went pee pee on the potty, he could go to the store and buy Edward.  (Edward is a train he's been asking for.)  He gets another train when he poops...this I can see won't happen for a while, but I will keep on pushin!

I've been  exploring taking pictures with manual settings on my camera and using a free editing program.  These are my 2 boys feet together. I got this pose idea from pinterest and finally remembered to do it. I love how it turned out!

Here is Ethan, just because he is such a cutie! This is a picture from his 3 month birthday photo shoot by his practicing mama :)

In addition to my previous post of what Ethan is up to, in the last 2 weeks he has begun to laugh. Its so precious to see his sweet smile and little chuckles! He thinks it so funny when I put his feet to his face. He also began being curious as he is nursing...he likes to look around, especially if there is a noisy Logan lurking around. He only like to sit up or stand up. He tries to sit up in his car seat...hence why he is not a fan of it! I think we may get him his big car seat sooner than we did for Logan. He is never asleep in it for long, and when the car stops he wakes up, i think lugging it around is more of a hassle.

Wow...its really been over a year since I've blogged....

WOW! Its so funny to me that my last post was my New Years Resolutions for 2011...and now its April 2012! I guess I failed on keeping up on our blog!

Well, I guess I will just start fresh. I blogged every month of the new things Logan was up to as an infant, and into his early toddler stage....I feel so sad that I stopped, because looking back its so fun to see the new things he was doing each month he grew.

Logan, is now just a little over 2 1/2 (32 months):

-He is just so hilarious! He is such a talker and is always coming up with words and concepts I didn't even know he knew or could understand. He is not talking in full sentences. He has begun to really warm up to Ethan and wants to hold him, hug him, and kiss him, and talks and plays with him.  He likes to make jokes saying "baby walks? hahaha funny."
-He is not too interested in potty training yet, so we are still working on this.
-He is stubborn, and has been throwing these horrible tantrums - but this was to be expected with the arrival of his little brother and just plain ole' age
-He loves to go to church, mainly because the nursery has trains. He says Amen after prayers and at the end of books.
-He loves to count things, he loves books and puzzles. He also loves to draw and always says his drawing is something random, the other day it was a kangaroo.
-He is (and has been for a while) obsessed with trains and Cars

Ethan, our sweet little arrival of this year is almost 3 months!
(11 wks at the moment)

-He is the perfect baby! He is sleeping 6-8 hours at night and wakes to eat then sleeps for another 3.  He is only awake for 2 hours at a time then whines and wants to be put down for a nap.
-He has begun to grab at things, he smiles when he wakes up and when you talk to him. He loves to sit and stand to bear his weight. He isn't too happy when he is laying on his back unless he is playing in his baby play mat.
-He loves taking baths and showers
-He hardly cries, just during middle of the night diaper change and when ever he is in his car seat and it's not in motion.
-At his 2 month well baby visit, he weighed 13.8 lbs, was 23 inches long and was in the 90th percentile for weight, 85th for height and average for his head circumference. He is definitely our little chunker! Most of his 0-3 month size clothes have been packed away in case we have another boy.
